99 Ranch Market, in Foster City, began their year with only about 1% diversion. Recology conducted a waste audit, and presented the 99 Ranch Market management team with various diversion opportunities through the BizSMART collection services. 99 Ranch agreed to turn their all-garbage compactor to compost only, and by pulling out all of the plastic material from the compactor to recycle them! As a result their diversion increased to 88.8% by the end of 2011.
