In addition, these contracts include non-exclusive recycling and organics collection services for the commercial sector. Commercial Recycling Collection Service
Allied provides free recycling collection service to businesses located in the SBWMA’s member agencies. This service includes providing bins and storage containers and weekly collection of:
- Cardboard
- Bottle and Cans
- Mixed Paper
By recycling, most businesses can reduce the amount of garbage they generate. A business can accrue cost savings by diverting recyclables from the trash, which could translate into lower cost garbage service (smaller dumpster or less frequent pick-up).

Commercial Food Scraps Composting Collection Service
Businesses that generate materials that can be composted (e.g., food scraps, plant materials and other organics) should consider subscribing to Allied’s Commercial Food Scraps Composting Collection Service. Reduced rates of 25% to 50% (of garbage service) are available for businesses depending on your location. Each member agency has the discretion to set the rates for this service.
Most businesses that can reduce the amount of garbage they generate by recycling food scraps can accrue cost savings by subscribing to a lower garbage service level and hence lower cost garbage service.

Garbage Collection Service
Allied provides exclusive garbage collection services to businesses in the SBWMA’s service area. All businesses must have a minimum level of garbage service. The cost for service is based on the size of the container and frequency of pick up. Therefore, the more you recycle, the less cost you will pay for garbage service.
