The commercial sector contributes roughly two-thirds of all garbage disposed in SBWMA’s member agencies.
The SBWMA is focusing on commercial recycling activities as a prime area to target future diversion programs. Studies are underway focusing on the challenges faced by our diverse office, retail and commercial businesses along with potential strategies and solutions that will boost recycling, source reduction and cost effective resource management. We are compiling business case histories, best practices and success stories and plan on conducting focus groups and surveys with companies representing each business sector in the next several months.
