Twice a year, Recology San Mateo County offers a scheduled pickup service of large and bulky items. Residents may set out:
- 2 cubic yards of bagged/boxed solid waste
- One large appliance (such as a washing machine, dryer, refrigerator or freezer)
- One bulky item (such as a mattress, couch or tires)
- E-Scrap (such as a TV, computer or computer monitor)
No liquids, dirt, rock, concrete, asphalt, hazardous waste or items that exceed 5 feet in length.

Or you can take appliances to the Shoreway Environmental Center at 333 Shoreway Road, San Carlos. Fees apply for large appliances. Call South Bay Recycling at (650) 802-8355 for details.
