Because they've adapted to our local dry summer climate, drought-tolerant natives need little or no summer water once they are established, and usually only need trimming once per year. This means less plant materials for your green bin and less water waste. Although plant materials placed in your green cart are composted and not landfilled, preventing waste is always better than recycling!
