Twice Annual On-Call Bulky Item Pick-Up Service

For your convenience, residents are provided two (2) customer- scheduled trash clean-ups per year at no extra charge. We encourage you to call a local charity to donate unwanted reusable items.  Contact San Mateo County RecycleWorks at 1-888-442-2666 or www.RecycleWorks.org for donation information.

On-call Bulky Item Pick-Up Service

The On-Call Bulky Item Pick-Up Service is provided to recycle large items such as mattresses or appliances, excess plant materials and wood and to dispose of excess trash or bulky items.

Call To Schedule Your Bulky Item Pick-Up Service

Residents should call Allied at (650) 592-2411 to schedule their Bulky Item Pick-Up. The service will be provided by the company within 10 business days of your request and will be provided on your regularly scheduled garbage collection service day.

Acceptable Items

For acceptable items and restrictions, single-family resident limits are:

  • 2 cubic yards per household (equal to twelve 32-gallon cans or bags).
  • 1 large item (such as a couch) or appliance (such as a dishwasher or refrigerator) that does not exceed 200 pounds.  Refrigerators (with doors removed) require special handling and must be requested at the same time that you schedule your clean-up date.
  • 1 Computer monitor, TV or personal computer.
  • No hazardous wastes (paints, thinners, or other chemicals) will be accepted for On-Call Bulky Item Pick-Up or through your regular garbage or recycling collection service.

Set-Out Instructions

Residents must keep all recyclable material separate from trash. Please ensure that all plant materials/wood waste, scrap metal, appliances and E-scrap (computer monitors, TVs, personal computers) are kept separate from bagged or piled garbage.
